Procedure Day Check List

Pre-Admission

The referring Doctor or the admission staff of the Mogo Day Surgery will provide you with written information about the procedure that is planned.  It is vital you read the information and instructions very carefully and in case of queries please do not hesitate to contact the Mogo Day Surgery.  Please bring the following to your pre-admission visit:

  • Health fund book / card
  • Medicare card
  • Pension card / Veterans Affairs card
  • Referral letter
  • Reading glasses
  • A list of current medications

 Your Stay at the Mogo Day Surgery

 Kindly follow the recommended guidelines to ensure that your stay is smooth:

  •  If you are having an anaesthetic please do not eat or drink anything for at least four (4) hours prior to admission – If approved by the anaesthetist during the pre-anaesthetic consultation, current medications may be taken with a sip of water prior to surgery
  • Do not smoke for at least two (2) days prior to surgery
  • Bring with you a list of current medications. 
  • Have a bath or shower prior to arriving at the Surgery.
  • It is advised that you wear loose, comfortable clothing, preferably front opening and walking shoes
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, do not forget to bring them and bring their case for safe keeping
  • It is advisable not to wear any jewellery or nail polish, fragrance or deodorants
  • Give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the Surgery to allow time to relax and be comfortable before the procedure
  • Do not forget to bring any relevant documentation including xrays and scans
